Abstract :
With the development of mobile communications and NGN technologies, there is a strong need to provide connectivity for moving devices to continuously communicate with other devices or applications on the NGN infrastructure, at any time and anywhere. The key issue of this vision is how to support seamless handover in the NGN environment. In this article, we summarize the functional requirements supporting seamless handover. And then based on the overview of multihoming and ID/LOC separation, a novel seamless handover scheme carrying on the advantages of multihoming and ID/LOC separation is proposed. It provides seamless handover when terminals moving between different RATs.
