Abstract :
Summary form only given. The characterization of ultrashort optical pulses has become an important tool in today´s laboratory. As pulse bandwidths increase, it becomes more and more difficult to obtain accurate measurements. We show here that the implementation of Spectral Phase Interferometry for Direct Electric-field Reconstruction (SPIDER) by homodyning the interferogram using an uncharacterized reference pulse allows one to perform accurate measurements.
