Abstract
Li/SO2Cl2 cells using SO2 solvate electrolyte have been discharged with current densities up to 200 mA/cm 2. The authors present results on low rate, high pulse capability Li/SO2Cl2 meeting the following general requirements: operating temperature of -30°C to +70°C; maximum discharge current of 40 times the minimum current; a high pulse capability with respect to the capacity (maximum current to capacity is 67 h-1); and capacity less than 0.1 Ah. The results demonstrate the ability of the system to operate in the range of temperatures desired
