Abstract
With economic development and social progress, geographic information science is playing a more and more important role in tourism development. Many spatial analysis methods have been used in planning and design of scenic development programs. In this paper, the application of geographic information systems is illustrated from three perspectives. DEM model, Voronoi diagram and Space syntax are used to help achieve suitable land use, rational scenic spots layout, and traffic systems, with which tourist split-flow may be attainable. This study enriches tourism planning methods, which may make tourism planning more scientific and operable.
