Abstract
Information security is very important in mobile ad- hoc network, especially when the network is applied in security- demanded situation. Due to lower bandwidth and longer delay, wireless network is inefficient when cryptographic method is implemented during data transmission. In this article, a novel method of soft encryption is proposed for multi-path routing data transmission. All messages are divided into a number of parts and self-encrypted by simple operations. The trust level assigned to a node of route path is a combination of direct interaction with its neighbors and the recommendations from its peers. The smallest average trust level of multi-path decides that how many parts should be encrypted by using cryptographic method. The mechanism is described, which obviously reduces the cost of using cryptographic method to encrypt entire message while security is ensured.
