Abstract
To indicate exactly the reliability of large-scale high-speed broadband communication network with domain partition and interconnection, a novel reliability index weighed by normalized capacity is defined, which organically combines connection performance with capacity. The correctness and rationality of the index are demonstrated on the aspects of objective factor of network and subjective factor of designer, and the transmission protocol and is also compatibility with the traditional index are considered. An algorithm of the new index is researched. The algebraic and logic algebraic calculation is easy to program in computer. The correctness of every key procedure is demonstrated in detail. Taking a typical topology network with domain partition and interconnection as an example, this paper expounds the layer by layer algorithm of the reliability index among the sub-domains and between domains, and then introduces the method to improve the network reliability. With constructing the experiment network, the practical measured statistic data is compared and analyzed with the theoretical values of calculation, and both are identical, which confirms the correctness of the newly defined index and the calculation method further.
