Abstract
Rigid pour polyurethane foam is presented to serve as a high voltage insulation material. The proposed foam is closed-cell two components flotation system that has low viscosity and low pressure. Different production techniques are applied and explained. The investigation of cross-section and skin of rigid pour polyurethane foam is performed with SEM (scanning electron microscopy). The electrical properties are studied under power frequency and lightning impulse voltage. The effects of water and foam skin on its properties are also investigated.
