Abstract
The controlled transmission power in Ad Hoc networks can reduce the energy consumption and increase the spatial reuse. In this paper we propose a novel spatial reuse technique using dual channel power controlled backoff based on geographic location. The basic idea is as follows: the control channel always stays at high power so as to enhance broadcast coverage, and backoffs from high power to low in case of emergency; while data channel always stays at low power so as to avoid interference of the neighboring node, and “backoffs” from low to high when there are more connecting requirement. In addition, the asymmetric links problem was solved through geographic information instead of advertisement PCS (Power Control Send) packet. Accordingly backoff algorithm is introduced and the successful transmission probability is analyzed briefly. The simulation results show it can meet the requirement of Traffic Safety Emergency Communication.
