Abstract :
The generation of stereo side information has become one of the hot research topics in Distributed Multiview Video Coding. The Approximate Disparity Estimation algorithm which employs the approximate disparity vectors to estimate the inter-view side information is presented in this paper. After introducing and improving the Encoder Mask Fusion algorithm, another fusion method, named Encoder-assisting Compensated Frame Difference, is further proposed. Experiments show that, by sending some a-priori information of the video frames from the encoder, the accuracy of stereo side information can be effectively improved.
