Abstract :
The authors proposed a high power and low vibration novel segment type switched reluctance motor (SRM), but it had a problem of large torque ripple. We also proposed the novel segment type SRM with a 2-steps slide or skew rotor to reduce the torque ripple. We produced the experimental machine and measured the characteristics. The average torque was decreased slightly in comparison with the non slide one, but the torque ripple was decreased well and the vibration was decreased too. In this paper, we apply a current control method aiming at the additional torque ripple reduction.
