Abstract
The NASA optical transient detector (OTD) project has recently concluded. Several changes to data processing have improved the agreement between OTD values and ground flash density (GFD) in South America while preserving agreement with strong ground flash density trends observed in North America, South Africa and other regions. A revised relationship between OTD and GFD values is recommended.
