Abstract :
This paper proposes an estimation method of the rotor position without a lot of calculation and additional hardware for Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM). This method uses the phase inductances varying regularly with the rotor position, and the rotor position is estimated using the approximate equation expressed by Fourier series of phase inductances. The phase inductance is obtained using the current of the excited phase. Experimental results show the validity of the proposed method.
