Abstract
The difficult part of statistical process control (SPC) for magnet wire is to collect and display adequate and appropriate data to help the operator plan changes and confirm their effectiveness. With hundreds of machines to track, dozens of characteristics and up to a thousand loss per day, the task of handling the data is considerable. With prudent assumptions confirmed by actual audit, SPC for a modern magnet wire plant can be developed, and can lead to the increases in quality and productivity which SPC has brought to other industries
