Abstract
Summary form only given. We have illustrated the ambiguity of ultrashort pulse shapes retrieved from the intensity autocorrelation and power spectrum alone. In our talk we will also discuss other examples and compare the calculated interferometric autocorrelations of such symmetric-asymmetric pulse pairs, which are predicted to be distinct, in order to assess the degree to which they can be distinguished in a practical context.
