Future international cooperation in military communications, command and control

Military C³ will be driven by the need to interoperate with a wide variety of allied forces in an equally wide variety of third world scenarios. The trend to commercial off-the-shelf and non-developmental items should alleviate some of the problem areas. However, the need for pinpoint accuracy and the timing of delivery of sophisticated weapons will continue to stress C³ capabilities, especially in coalition warfare.
