Abstract
This presentation discusses the comparison of three instantaneous frequency trackers in the context of the application of laser Doppler velocimetry to acoustic particle-velocity measurements. The first estimator is based on the cross Wigner-Ville transform (CWV), the second is the time-frequency synchronous transform (TFST) optimised for sine wave frequency modulated signals and the third is an adaptation of Kalman filtering. The performance of each estimator is studied in terms of bias and variance using simulations. The performance of these estimators in real conditions is also considered
