Abstract :
Conductive thermoplastic resins are expected to play a major role in encapsulating transformers rated up to 1 kVA where operating temperature reductions are important. They also will find usage in power supplies and in small motors. The basic properties and performance characteristics of these new resins are reviewed and compared with the 6,6 nylon and thermoplastic polyesters used in most coil bobbin/encapsulation appliances
