Abstract
This paper looks at a few EMC type testing topics related to compliance with the new Railway Standard ENV50121. The author has been working on EMC compliance programs for existing equipment for 9 months. The installation of an EMC test facility for full compliance testing has been part of this task. It is hoped that the ideas are useful to others embarking on the same road. The author discusses type test documentation, external test house testing, EMC test design, fast transient surge, surge susceptibility, conducted RF susceptibility, and radiated RF susceptibility
