Abstract
Chromatic aberration is a color artifact that should be removed in a color digital image. In this paper, the proposed method focuses on the detection and removal of the color artifact in narrow color regions caused by chromatic aberration. Absolute gradient values and gradient directions of RGB color components are used to detect transition regions, in which chromatic aberration occurs. Four gradient directions are used in order to improve the performance of chromatic aberration detection. Then, the chromatic aberration is removed using the color difference information. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed chromatic aberration removal method.
