Abstract
The paper examines the relationship between business process redesign (BPR) and data management. It describes the BPR philosophy, the balanced relationship it has with data management and the different implementation approaches possible. It concludes that both are valuable when improving business performance, but greater benefits can be achieved through their synergy. Both approaches have evolved so that the best method depends on the business´s current position and objectives and both can be successful
