Abstract
Accurate and simple modeling of the real environment of IEEE 802.11 WLAN is essential for efficient provisioning of QoS-guaranteed multimedia provisioning. Several approaches have been proposed to increase the accuracy of EDCA analytical models. None of them, however, has considered the frame error probability of individual stations. In this paper, we propose a realistic IEEE 802.11e EDCA mathematical model for QoS-aware differentiated multimedia cloud services. The analytical model of EDCA is enhanced by considering the channel error probability at each station. We validate the accuracy of the enhanced model via experiments in a real testbed2.
