Abstract
In order to improve the automation of agricultural irrigation and save water resources, combining with the characteristics of soil in arid and semi-arid areas, this paper designed a soil moisture monitoring and farmland drought system which based on PLC and GPRS technology. The system can achieve remote monitoring of the soil moisture and irrigation pumps by Wince configuration software with the help of GPRS wireless network and PLC communication, and can form a farmland soil moisture monitoring and drought-resistant SCADA system in an area. The system has a simple structure, fast communication, and runs stably, and has certain practicability and commercial worth.
