Abstract :
Equalization over frequency-selective Rayleigh slow fading channels is a problem of great theoretical and practical importance. A subspace-based approach for semi-blind weighted equalization of single-input multiple-output (SIMO) channel is presented. A novel semi-blind procedure, that takes advantage of pilot symbols, and a new diversity technique, that make use of the weighted equalizer symbols, are proposed. Numerical simulation results show that over 10 dB gain is obtained with the proposed methods at a bit error rate (BER) of 10-2 in the simulated context.
