Abstract
Demands imposed by newer and more advanced PV cell and module technologies are creating a growing need for higher accuracy and more stable solar simulators. The class A designation for spectrum that was developed principally for single-junction Si-based modules can be inadequate for some of these applications and might need to be replaced by simulator specifications beyond class A. Details of selected simulator parameters are presented along with measurement methods and test data for flash simulators currently or soon to be available from Spire Corporation.
