Abstract
Customers of institutions of learning are agitating for quality education that focuses on psychological, physical and mental development of students. The institution has the onuses of preparing and protecting its students from dangerous situations. The paucity in the quality of learning is more of ethical and esthetical values development than knowledge accumulation. A solution strategy is to make maximum use of emerging mobile networking technology to establish cooperation, interaction and integrity between the institution and its customers. This facilitates the process of continuously monitoring and tracking students both within and outside the learning environment. Thus, the process of student evaluation and amelioration through well-structured mentoring, guidance and counseling services are realizable. Customer-driven mobile student information tracking system (MosiTracker) conception derived from the aforementioned needs and provides an effective solution to the inefficiencies in providing authentic ethical and esthetical development agenda. The framework exploits the benefits that telecommunication and mobile technologies like WAP, WML, XML, PHP, DVB-T and T-DAB offer to enable an efficient replenishment, enhance the quality of services, add value to students and ensure customers´ acquisition, retention and patronage that are essential to sustainable growth. A distinguishing characteristic of the system is its ability to predict student behaviour from a database. The paper discusses the rationale behind this concept, identifies a number of pertinent research themes and concludes with a critical assessment of its ample market prospect
