Abstract :
Choosing what type of vehicle to detour is an important part in traffic organization in freeway reconstruction and expansion project. The experience of vehicle selection is first concluded. Base on ve hic le s´ traveling characteristics, the comparison of each selection is provided. The application and limitation of each selection are based on capacity, safety, network service level and some other aspects. The reconstruction and expansion project of Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Freeway(Hebei section) is illustrated as an incidence to conduct the selection of detouring vehicles.
