Abstract :
With the increase in system operating frequency and expansion of circuit scale, the interconnect parameter of the MCM (multichip module) has increasingly impacted on circuit performance. As a result, the interconnect effect has been paid much attention. Most of the analysis has been focused on the timing aspects of interconnects, while little effort has been given to studying power consumption. Based on the RLC transmission line model, the paper derives an MCM interconnect power consumption equation. Computer simulation results are presented to verify the theoretical analysis.
