Abstract :
The authors introduce a framework called competence set analysis to model decision problems in fuzzy environments. They discuss such concepts as fuzzy random set decomposition of competence sets, expansion costs, and expansion rewards. Optimal expansion processes are outlined by considering both expansion costs and expansion rewards. An algorithm for finding the optimal process of expanding competence sets is described
