Abstract
GPGPU (General Purpose computing on Graphic Processing Unit) attracts a great deal of attention, which is used for general-purpose computations like numerical calculations as well as graphic processing. In this paper, we implement adaptive fractal image coding algorithms on GPUs by using CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture) in order to achieve a given quality of a compressed image and evaluate the improved version of the coding algorithm by enhancing the occupancy of GPU cores.
