Abstract
The status of computerization in industry is examined, using the results of a survey of European manufacturers. It is shown that some areas (e.g. inventory, design) are more computerized than are others, but that even where one firm has computerized multiple segments of its operation, the computer systems used are rarely integrated. Methods of integrating systems within and between businesses are examined briefly
