Abstract
Fril is an artificial intelligence programming language that incorporates a powerful mechanism for handling uncertainty using Baldwin´s support logic and it is implemented as a compiler producing code for an abstract machine. The authors outline the features of the abstract machine which deal with uncertainty in the value of a specific parameter. Fril handles possibility distributions as fundamental data types. Algorithms used to achieve fast operations on these objects are discussed. These operations include standard fuzzy set combinations, basic arithmetic operations, and the generalization of unification to allow partial matching
