Abstract :
A high-performance class A CMOS voltage follower is presented which is also suitable for the implementation of current conveyors and current-mode amplifiers. The circuit is based on a symmetric two-gain-stages closed-loop topology which provides a virtual zero systematic offset and highly reduces harmonic distortion and transfer gain error. Simulations on a 1.2 μm design, supplied with a single 5 V DC voltage, show a 100 kHz THD better than -70 dB, even with a sinusoidal input amplitude of 1.5 V and a DC transfer gain error less than 0.1%. Moreover, the proposed design achieves a 3 dB bandwidth of 18 MHz and an output resistance of 130 Ω
