Abstract
A wideband variable gain control circuit with current rather than voltage inputs and output is described. The gain control is shown to achieve better than 9-b linearity with 150-MHz small- and large-signal bandwidth. Operation is extremely flexible, with voltage or current signals at the inputs and output. While the bandwidth decreases at low gains, a 50-MHz -3 dB bandwidth is maintained over a gain range of 24 dB
