  • Abstract
Since the growth rate of Mobile Ad Hoc networks (MANETs) is increasing, research on routing protocols that improve the conditions for quality of service and propose better strategy, are still opened. Because of MANETs are mobile and infrastructureless, lifetime is one of the important parameters that depend on energy consumption. Energy and traffic per node affect dramatically total energy consumption, so in this paper we utilize a biologically inspired optimization algorithm named ant colony routing (ACR), which it´s ability to optimize different systems have been shown in many literatures. Based on this idea a traffic-energy aware protocol has been presented as a probability for each node that incorporates effects of energy and traffic in ACR. Results show that combination of these algorithms (ACR&Traffic-Energy aware) as a probability in MANEts, acceptably improves some parameters like delivery ratio.
