Abstract
This paper presents the design of the low power comb-based decimation filter with the following characteristics: a low wideband pass band droop and a high stop band attenuation of the overall filter. Low power consumption is achieved by multiplier less design and eliminating filtering at high input rate. To this end the decimation is split into two stages with the cascaded less order comb filters at each stage. The first stage is implemented in non recursive form and the polyphase decomposition is applied to this stage to avoid the filtering at the high input rate. Two simple compensation filters which work at a low rate are introduced. The sharpening technique is applied in the second stage to the cascade of comb filter and the compensation filter.
