Abstract :
The level of lightning protection on transmission, subtransmission, and distribution lines can be effectively evaluated with the use of historical outage information, lightning ground flash density data, information obtained on field inspections, and EPRI´s Lightning Protection Design Workstation. Comparisons can be made between various methods of lightning protection for a given line to obtain the most beneficial and cost effective results
