  • Abstract
With high working frequency and sensitivity of phase states of particles in cloud, millimeter-wave cloud radar (MMCR) is particularly vulnerable to attenuation by cloud and precipitation and permitivity change by phase transition of cloud, and must be corrected. Firstly, after having distinguished phase states of cloud by the melting layer, different |K|2 is selected to calculate reflectivity factor. Then based on analysed the characteristics of several correction methods, the bin by bin method is selected to correct the reflectivity factor of MMCR and its correction parameters are gotten by the experiment. and the corrected data is compared with that of doppler weather radar (DPWR). The result shows: the corrected reflectivity factor of MMCR increases apparently and its distribution agrees well with that of DPWR.
