Abstract :
The Fe3+:Al2O3 whispering gallery mode maser oscillator is presented in this paper. Preliminary results already show a frequency stability of about 10-14 for integration times up to 30 s. A model combining the rate equations and the electromagnetic field in the sapphire is presented. Paramagnetic properties and maser sensitivity to external parameters have been conducted to verify the validity of our model.
