Abstract :
We propose a Fourier transform-based 3D profile-acquisition method. Since the proposed method is employed in the spatial frequency domain, the 3D retrieval process can be performed effectively using a fast Fourier transform (FFT) algorithm even if a deformed grating pattern uses a high-resolution image format. To accelerate the FFT computation, we implement the proposed method using a graphics processing unit. Experimental results show that 3D measurement can be performed in real time using a deformed grating pattern of 1024 × 1024 pixels. The resultant profile is sufficiently accurate not only in double-precision arithmetic but also in single-precision arithmetic.
