Abstract :
This paper presents a derivation of the probability density function (PDF) of the signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) in the case of optimum spatial diversity combining. The space diversity gain is reduced because of correlation between antennas, thus we consider a correlated Rayleigh fading channels in the analysis. In antenna array concept, the PDF of the SIR is related to multivariate analysis. We obtain an expression for the PDF of the SIR through a hypergeometric function 1F0 with matrix arguments, and use it to compute the outage probability of a CDMA system. We compare our theoretical results to Monte-Carlo simulations. Results reveal that there is a good agreement between theory and simulation
