Abstract :
Summary form only given. The Honeycomb Strip Chamber is a new segmented-cathode proportional chamber made from foil with conductive strips. The foil is folded perpendicular to the strips into a ribbon foil. Two of these foils form a layer of honeycomb cells; a wire is strung in the center. An eight-layer prototype has been constructed. The position resolution could be measured by an analysis of track residuals. Results better than sigma =64 mu m per plane were obtained for perpendicular tracks.<>
