Abstract :
Summary form only given. Several versions of microstrip gas detectors have been constructed and tested with high-energy particle beams, laser ionization and X-rays. The device localizes to 30- mu m accuracy the ionization in the gas above the substrate carrying the electrode pattern. An application of these devices in a track detector at a high-luminosity hadron collider has been considered.<>
