Abstract :
Summary form only given. A 6 W, 770 nm source based on a 10 W seeded erbium amplifier and second harmonic generation in PPKTP is demonstrated and used for over 2 W continuum generation in holey fibers. 63% efficient conversion to 770 nm is achieved and 98% of the coupled pump is converted to the 330 nm wide continuum.
