Abstract :
Roads have very small backscateering coefficient for radio waves, thus they have low intensities on very high resolution (VHR) SAR imagery. Based on the above unique characteristic, mean angular texture signature (MATS) is proposed to track ribbon roads from VHR SAR images in this paper. Experiments demonstrate the proposed tracker can reliably extracts most of roads from VHR SAR images.
