Abstract :
In this paper, the chip designs of analog pulsewidth modulation (PWM) and digital PWM are developed and implemented for switching power converters. This research employed analog and digital PWM technology to design the DC/DC converter control system. The advantages and disadvantages between these two architectures are treated in this paper. The key circuits of analog PWM controller IC are two-stage operational amplifier, voltage-controlled oscillator, ramp generator, and comparator. The key circuits of digital PWM controller IC are A/D converter, digital compensator, and DPWM. The design and implementation of APWM and DPWM for low supply voltage electronic system have been fabricated with TSMC 0.35um 2P4M 3.3 V/5 V mixed signal CMOS process through CIC support.
