Abstract
Recently, the need for always-best-connected wireless network service is increasing more than ever. To meet this need, wireless network operators prefer cost effective strategy to massive investment on current network before LTE. In this paper, we propose IEEE 802.21 Media Independent Handover (MIH) based network integration solution by which no change is needed for core networks. We use Mobile IP for IP mobility and implement Make-Before-Break (MBB) scheme during vertical handover. In Skype and VoD experiments on commercial WIBRO and HSDPA networks, user did not recognize any interruption of session during handovers.
