Abstract
A study was conducted of the assessment component of a computer-based system for performing vocal shaping in severely speech-deficient individuals. The resulting correlations between experienced human speech evaluators and a computer indicate that computer-aided vocal shaping of severely speech-disabled individuals is a realistic possibility. Such quantitative results have never been obtained before with the developmentally handicapped.<>
