Abstract
For the application of heavy ions in radiation therapy, an intensity-controlled beam scanning system has been built consisting of the two magnets fed by a fast controlled power supply. The characteristic data are: current range: -300 A to +300 A; controlled current rise: +or-33 kA/s; output voltage: +or-400 V; accuracy and current ripple: 1 A (peak-peak); and tracking error: none. The construction and final as-built characteristics are presented.<>
