Abstract
The rationale for TV-based computer-coupled motion analysis systems with the use of reflective markers is briefly reviewed, and the authors recent contributions to the image sensing part of the system are discussed. Improvements at camera level suffice to extract the markers from ambient scene luminosity or background clutter. Processing expedients, like spot-size recognition (confining markers within fixed distances), are thus obviated. Applications are shown to handicapped gait gnathology, and eye wink, as a fast ballistic motion.<>
