Abstract
A high-frequency zero-voltage switching DC/DC converter is proposed to meet the requirements of DC magnet power supplies. The advantages of the proposed power supply configuration are discussed, and a description of converter operation is presented. The advantages of zero-voltage switching are lossless switching of power devices, improved dynamic response with reduced output filter size by high-frequency switching, output transformer for isolation and step down/up voltage and current levels, and overall reduction in size and weight of the power supply. The proposed power supply can be used as DC bias power supplies for ring magnet power supplies and beam transport systems.<>
